About the Artist

Holly Alaine (Holly Alaine Arts) is an art educator, visual artist, live art performer, face and body painter, art historian and photographer! She is originally from Annapolis, Maryland, USA and has been in Ottawa less than one year. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art and Art History from Concordia University in Montréal in June 2024.

Holly's artistic practice explores figures, portraits, animals, and the natural world, often through feminist and magical themes. Working primarily in painting, drawing, and printmaking, she also transforms secondhand clothing with embroidery and fabric paint.

Since 2017, she has worked as a face and body painter at events including parties, festivals, concerts, and dance performances. Holly is now offering live art performances, creating portraits of performers in action during concerts and other events!

Holly currently teaches online art classes for children through Miss Jenny's Studio and is teaching in person at the Glebe Centre (Abbotsford) and GNAG in the Glebe. She leads workshops, paint-and-sip events, small group classes, and private art tutoring for all ages. Holly is also available for custom artwork, upcycled clothing commissions, live art performances and face and body painting bookings.
